To enhance, assist and grow the sport of soccer.
Who We Are
The United States Soccer Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded in 1994 with surplus funds generated by the 1994 World Cup held in the United States. For the past ten years, the Foundation has helped tens of thousands of men, women and children enjoy the game of soccer. Over $40 million dollars in grants, loans and investments have been made to develop a soccer nation.
Our Priorities
- To support the long-term development of the sport to the highest level.
- To promote participation by underserved and disadvantaged players.
- To support player, referee and coaches development.
- To support the construction of fields and soccer-specific infrastructure.
Our Services
Through a series of direct services and partnerships, the U.S. Soccer Foundation touches thousands of lives by providing resources and assistance to the soccer community.
- Field Development – Expanding the playing opportunities for every American soccer citizen.
- Grassroots Support – Responding to the needs of an emerging and diverse American soccer community.
- Player Development – Increasing participation at all ages from youth to pros.
Key Accomplishments
- More than 350 grants have been made to support the development of more than 100 new fields, reach 10,000 urban elementary school students, and help create opportunity for our next generation of National Team players.
- Nearly $11 million has been granted to local soccer clubs to support player and coaching education programs, as well as initiate after-school curricula for at-risk public elementary school students.
- The Foundation has partnered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to remediate formerly contaminated properties;
- More than 10,000 public elementary school students in center cities, enrolled in America SCORES have improved their individual reading, writing, and soccer skills due to the ongoing support of the Foundation.
- The Foundation, through its Passback program has helped to distribute over 64,000 articles of “gently used” soccer equipment and uniforms to schools, clubs and youth organizations since 2000.
