Northeastern University’s FieldTurf Duraspine PRO surface has now earned FIFA 2-Star recommended status. This marks the second FieldTurf Duraspine PRO FIFA 2-Star certified field in Massachusetts.
Home to the Northeastern Huskies of NCAA soccer, Parsons Field has quickly become one of the crown jewels for soccer in Massachusetts right next to Gillette Stadium’s FIFA 2-Star surface with the same FieldTurf product. This field has been designed specifically to mirror the playing characteristics of professional soccer.
The FIFA Recommended 2-Star designation is the highest synthetic turf rating from FIFA and is issued after a battery of tests are performed by a FIFA approved testing agent. FIFA final round competitions and top UEFA competitions have the FIFA Recommended 2-Star in their respective competition regulations.
"This is truly the top field we have played on,” said Northeastern University Men's Soccer Coach Brian Ainscough. “We have had no injuries of any type to speak of, no back, leg or any type of muscle injuries. This field is much better than the Astroplay field we replaced as far as injuries and play go. Parsons is in fact the best field of any type we have played on. My players really enjoy it."
“Our FieldTurf patented system is designed to outperform the most stringent of testing and provides excellent footing and ball-roll characteristics that are ideal for professional soccer players and soccer players at all levels,” said FieldTurf President Eric Daliere. “We are happy that coach Ainscough and his players enjoy playing on their FieldTurf surface as FieldTurf has proven to be the safest surface for a wide variety of sports in the world today."
