The New Zealand All Blacks, the world’s most famous Rugby team and a perennial juggernaut on the world rugby scene, have been training on FieldTurf since 1999 to rave reviews from players and coaches. 

In what is typically referred to as a very ‘traditional’ sports environment, the rugby community in New Zealand has been in full support of synthetic turf since College Rifles Rugby Club selected it in 2008. All of Auckland's 20 rugby clubs have supported College Rifles' initiative and will play on the new infilled turf surface. The turf is seen as another step to modernize rugby in New Zealand without taking tradition away from the game.
