First of all, there haven't been that many afternoon games in recent times, there were a couple that I remember from last year but I don't know, that is something to take into consideration and I don't have a good answer for you on that. One thing I do know in thinking about this question I want to make it clear, I'm surprised that this story isn't out there because it's a true story, that the Krafts got the best soccer field available in the world and the football team is playing on it. It's good enough for football but it is built for soccer, they got a soccer field and I hope our fans realize that first of all every effort was made, every last ditch effort was made to keep a natural surface and a big part of that was because of the Revolution and the sport of soccer. (But) in the end a decision had to be made so that both teams had an acceptable, in fact superior playing surface and that's the conundrum you're in when you are in the north. The same reason that I think you see teams like Spartak Moscow playing Champions League games on a synthetic field. Is it a perfect world, no but this is the newest generation FieldTurf, monofilament that has extra reinforcement designed to keep the blades of synthetic grass more upright over a longer period of time in order for the ball to sit up more naturally and to replicate a natural surface as closely as possible... It is two-star rated (by FIFA) which is a higher rating and later generation than what they have at Saprissa (in Costa Rica) and Moscow, two of the higher profile facilities that have synthetic turf, so as much as possible the Revolution were taken into consideration.— Brad Feldman New England Revolution Director of Communications
It was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. On all the turfs I’ve played on, this is probably the best stuff I’ve seen.— Steve Ralston New England Revolution Team Captain
