It's always nice. I think the quarterbacks (like it) because you can plant really well. It's different than playing out there in our sandpit because you can dig in and push off.— Tom Brady New England Patriots Quarterback
We first started using it (FieldTurf) out by our blocking machines because the players are always in the same place and if you're on grass (in those spots) you have mud in about five days. We had it installed in our (practice) bubble and it's been really good. I think that really was a huge upgrade.— Bill Belichick New England Patriots Head Coach
It’s really just like grass, I really don’t mind it at all. It’s just that you don’t get dirty.— Dan Koppen
We’ve been practicing on FieldTurf since we put it in five years ago. And when we put the FieldTurf in [the practice facility] five years ago, we did a lot of work about what the best product in the marketplace was, and it was clearly FieldTurf. That was the best synthetic field that existed. And we got to know [FieldTurf CEO] John Gilman and his company and we established a relationship. And over those five years we have installed a field in Brookline for the town to use. That is a FieldTurf field. We built the Kraft Family Stadium in Jerusalem. That was a FieldTurf field. And we have gotten to build a relationship with John Gilman and his company that goes beyond supplier-vendor. It’s a true partnership between our organization and his organization and our families have a mutual respect and like for each other. So we have always been doing the research and had in the back of our heads wanting to know what the best product was in case the day ever came. And not only have we selected the best product, but we have selected the best people.— Robert Kraft New England Patriots President
It (FieldTurf) was awesome. We had our footing, we were able to move around, we felt quick, we felt fast. We didn't have to worry about sliding as much. We could stop and cut and do some different things that we want to do on a good surface.— Richard Seymour Patriots DE
I like it a lot, I think there are throws we made, that we completed the other night, that we probably couldn't complete on grass -- just because the footing is so good and you can really push off and drive the ball, and the receivers can cut really well," Brady said. "I think everybody really likes the surface." "And obviously we talked about the [11-yard] run after the game. On a terrible field, it's hard to move laterally. Like I said, the turf was probably the biggest factor in that run.— Tom Brady
First of all, there haven't been that many afternoon games in recent times, there were a couple that I remember from last year but I don't know, that is something to take into consideration and I don't have a good answer for you on that. One thing I do know in thinking about this question I want to make it clear, I'm surprised that this story isn't out there because it's a true story, that the Krafts got the best soccer field available in the world and the football team is playing on it. It's good enough for football but it is built for soccer, they got a soccer field and I hope our fans realize that first of all every effort was made, every last ditch effort was made to keep a natural surface and a big part of that was because of the Revolution and the sport of soccer. (But) in the end a decision had to be made so that both teams had an acceptable, in fact superior playing surface and that's the conundrum you're in when you are in the north. The same reason that I think you see teams like Spartak Moscow playing Champions League games on a synthetic field. Is it a perfect world, no but this is the newest generation FieldTurf, monofilament that has extra reinforcement designed to keep the blades of synthetic grass more upright over a longer period of time in order for the ball to sit up more naturally and to replicate a natural surface as closely as possible... It is two-star rated (by FIFA) which is a higher rating and later generation than what they have at Saprissa (in Costa Rica) and Moscow, two of the higher profile facilities that have synthetic turf, so as much as possible the Revolution were taken into consideration.— Brad Feldman New England Revolution Director of Communications
