Matt Anthony Field is one of the most recognized sports fields in all of Canada. It recently upgraded to FieldTurf Revolution, and the Gee Gees’ program has never looked back. Known as one of the better funded football programs in the country – thanks to its surface and athletic facilities – Matt Anthony Field also demonstrates great flexibility by the number of teams and sports it hosts. That includes the university’s women’s rugby team. Women’s rugby is undoubtedly on the rise, and the athletes at University of Ottawa play with great tenacity and confidence on their FieldTurf surface. No scrum is too intense for FieldTurf, and no doubt rugby is best suited to be played on FieldTurf.
“The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees have produced some of Canada’s finest athletes. But to develop the best athletes possible, we need top-calibre facilities. The new FieldTurf artificial turf on the Matt Anthony Field will help us in recruiting and retaining some of the best rugby, soccer and football student-athletes and will be crucial to our programs’ continued success.”
- Luc Gélineau, director of Sports Services at University of Ottawa
